The idea to realize AutoReale® was born during the attendance at various live and online auctions by the editor, Jürgen Heyne and his team. After a 4 month testphase the starting flag has been waived on June 08. 2005 and the database was presented to the public and to a professional audience. As early as 1993 the editor did participate in some of Germany´s first live auctions. After years of active participation he got the idea to collect the price information which had been spread by fax in those days. These data had been stored for our own use. About a year ago the editor has started to realize the idea od the AutoReale database together with his IT specialists. Extensive programming and especially the daily market watch had been necessary to realize this project.

The idea of AutoReale® is based on the thoughts that we have a number of market watchers in Germany but all of them are using more or less average prices which are somehow statistically refined. Their real value especially for professional car traders has been reduced over time. Based on this development we can monitor a new way of getting prices in Germany. In the internet large online auctions and trading platforms with their advertised prices are now more and more the benchmark in order to cross check a vehicle price. In the end nobody really knows if these prices had been real prices or just teasers. In any case these prices are just offers not market traded prices.

With our database we intend to choose a completely different path. We are guided by the logic that an increasing large number of cars are now traded through live and online auctions in Germany (in 2004 more than 100.000 vehicles traded) by commercial buyers; so these real market prices are prices paid in real life by commercial market participant, so we consider this the real value. In order to avoid data from only one company either live or online we make sure that a variety of daily auctions are monitored and their data gathered. All data are then asap entered into our database by a team of AutoReale® editors.

Bids for vehicles in various auctions all over Germany made by cardealers make us confident that we are gathering real prices which had been made and paid in order to really purchase these vehicles; these real prices – sometimes also called dealer purchase prices - are something we consider a true value. The prices paid by other cardealers are also interesting for market participants such as leasing companies, fleet owners, car rentals and other commercial institutions.

That´s why this sector of the cartrading branch is the fastest growing area in an otherwise rather stagnating market. More and more we see online auctions spreading becuase they have many advantages compared with live auctions. The form of a live auction - as long as we have transparency regarding bidding and prices - allow us to gather data easier and more accurately.

AutoReale® , allows any user to look up real prices fast and easy. We do not show advertising prices. Our prices are prices paid by cardealers in auctions without agio. We gather only real market prices; prices under reserve are also considered market prices because it was made in the inention to really purchase that vehicle at that given price. Besides these numerous data we also gather adetailed description of the vehicle and its condition plus the date of the auctions.

To make sure our users have always recent data when checking car prices we display only vehicle data from the last 6 month. Older data are automatically moved to our extended database and are there accessible for premium users such as surveyors, lawyers, technical experts, courts etc..

Since it is very expansive to monitor all these auctions, gather the relevant data and enter them into the database, we charge for the price inquiries. There are two ways to buy these prices; one you get them anonymously and second you register yourself and pay only half. Of course we offer subscriptions for regular inquries into our database.

It is our goal to become a brandname in the group of market price experts with our unique concept of real prices.
